Fics like stand by you

Tommy breathes out, and asks as gently as he can, “Are you okay?” “What’s it to you?” Niki responds immediately, and something painful shoots through him. He says, a little stronger, “I saw you crying, and I-” “What’s it matter if I’m crying?” Niki cuts him off. She looks away from him, glaring down at the crater. Her eyes are teary. Tommy has to fight to not match that – he’s always been a sympathetic crier. “Niki-” he starts. “I know you don’t like me anymore, but…” His voice grows quieter, and he curls an arm around himself in an attempt to find some sort of comfort. “I still care about you, and I wanted to make sure you were okay.” - (Or: 5 times Tommy helps someone through their trauma, and 1 time he's finally helped instead.)
