Fics like The poet and the thief

“Hello young child.” His voice was smooth, almost airy. Tommy knew not to trust it though, nor did he trust the closed mouth smile or the calming aura. Everything about this man screamed ‘Trust me!’ and yet also ‘I have no good intentions’. Tommy Innit, village orphan and thief somehow finds himself befriending the forest creatures he was raised to fear. It's not his fault they're kinder to him than everyone else!
