Fics like the cure

Finney hated therapy. He shouldn't have to owe it to everyone because of what he went through. But they saw differently. So, reluctantly, he had gone, and kept going even after moving halfway across the country for college. He didn't go for himself. He went for the sake of his friends and family. And that was the fatal mistake. On the 3 year anniversary of his abuser, ex Pastor Albert Shaw's, incarceration, he decided he wasn't going to go to therapy anymore. He was sick of it, and frankly, he found it unhelpful and bothersome. However, when leaving the office, he managed to bump into the man of his dreams, leaving him in a daze and an innate desire to get laid, trauma be damned. When said guy ended up flirting with him at the bar, it turned into a series of hookups that got more meaningful than the last. Before he knew it, he was in his first ever serious relationship. He guessed the movies were right, love really was the solution to everything. But when Albert Shaw was pronounced dead in prison, everything came back to light. The bandage of love couldn't contain all the blood anymore, and despite all of Finney's effort to make it be the solution he craved, it will never be the cure.
