Fics like Sunset

Tonight, Peter's feeling drawn to rest outside, and lie on the old steel beam that he'd rested on after getting out of the hospital. That moment had become a meaningful touchstone for him - where hope had begun to outweigh fear. Where Peter looked out and let himself believe something better could be around the corner. And tonight, as he looks out, the memory of it all tugs at him: the morning when the city and sun seemed to be promising a brand new day. And then, just as he thinks he might be about to fall asleep, he hears the door open. "Who is it?" He asks, not bothering to look over.
