Frowning, Buck mutters to himself, “It’s okay. It’s still early. I’m sure more people will stop by as the day goes on.” That’s what he tells himself when it happens again. And again. And again. Two hours and zero customers later, Buck spirals. He double checks the spelling of his signs. He makes sure he didn’t accidentally write $50 instead of $5. He adjusts the little bi flag hanging from the top of his booth. Once he’s made sure everything is perfect, he sits down, only to be rejected all over again. And again. And again. And again until the end of the event. Six o’clock rolls around, and the only people he’s kissed were Maddie and Jee when they stopped by to bring him one of Bobby’s burgers. OR the LAFD hosts a carnival fundraiser where Buck is in charge of the kissing booth. Eddie pays people to stay away from him.
