Fics like i'll be the north star that takes you home

So let me come with you, Buck wants to say. Sneak me on the plane or in your suitcase—or into your heart—and let me follow you. Let me hold your hand on the plane and in the uber to your parents place and under the dinner table as your mom makes her specialty meatloaf that you had hoped you would never have to have again. I love you here, and I’ll love you in El Paso, and I’ll love you when we’re buried somewhere under the ground in a hundred years, our bones decaying but never my heart because even the maggots that carelessly feast know to stay away from the sanctuary that houses a love that strong. Let me come with you—to El Paso, to your worst nightmares, to your brightest visions of the future, to our deaths. Let me come with you, and you’ll never be alone again. in which eddie is moving back to el paso for the summer, and buck is deeply in love.
