When Hiccup is abducted and tortured by a brutal new enemy, the dragon riders launch a desperate mission to bring him home. Found chained and half-dead, Hiccup is returned to Berk with shattered bones, a ruined back, and a war brewing inside him. As he recovers—physically, emotionally, and painfully publicly—he must relearn how to lead, to trust, and to fly. Haunted by scars that don't fade and nightmares that won't let go, Hiccup prepares for the fight of his life against a hunter who wants to finish what he started. This is a whump-heavy, raw, slow-burn recovery saga of survival, loyalty, and love—where Toothless won’t leave his side, Astrid won’t let him fall, and Hiccup won’t stop until the man who broke him bleeds.
