Fics like Blood Is Always Thicker than Water

"Hey Doc, you might want to come down to the station," Sheriff suggests to him over his clinic's phone. "There's some suits here asking for you specifically, said they dropped by your house.” "What do you mean people with suits are looking for me? Why would they need me? You're the Sheriff." He says, carefully pulling the next looping stitch through the small laceration on the little boy's arm. "Yeah.. well they have some official looking files with them, so I would hurry up what you're doing and get here before they sniff you out at your clinic.” Finishing another stitch, he grumbles, "Give me ten minutes and I'll be there, just stall them Mike. You're good at that." Mater's green eyes light up as he rips the offered ruby red lollipop right out of Doc’s hand. (Or the story where Doc raises Lightning from the very beginning. Some things change, some things will stay the same. Buckle up!)
