Fics like The Road Down by the Bridge Isn't Finished, and Neither Is the Boy Who Has to Fix It

(FIRST SERIES) Rookie racing phenom Monty "Lightning" McQueen is finally slowing down and finding a true home in the quiet desert town of Radiator Springs. But the peace is shattered when his high-powered corporate agent arrives to drag him back to the brutal California circuit. When a pre-departure medical exam reveals the horrific physical abuse Monty has been hiding beneath his flashy superstar persona, the town refuses to let him go. Standing as an unyielding wall between a corrupt corporate machine and a terrified boy who is risking everything just to stand his ground, Doc Hudson and the town use everything they have to lock down the driver, determined to keep him safe from the world that is breaking him.
