Fics like slow down you crazy child, you're so ambitious for a juvenile

Lightning McQueen has always believed being a racer means pushing past the pain...until his knees remind him otherwise. From starting as a one-man show to collapsing mid-race in front of his crew when he ignores the warning signs, Lightning’s career is marked by a pain he can’t outrun. But it’s also marked by the people who step up for him one way or another: Mack, Doc, Cal and Bobby, and soon, the whole town. In both big and small gestures, they teach him that asking for help isn’t weakness. It's a part of life. (OR; a series of connected snapshots about Lightning's chronic knee pain and how he learns to let others in.)
