Fics like shuddering spark

Luke’s in a weird place right now. There’s no way to say “I’m worried about you” without sounding like a total mom… and the last thing Luke’s willing to accept is a mom. So, all his friends can do is... watch. Watch, and worry, and wish they could do anything that wouldn’t cause Luke to push them away. But if one thing’s true about Luke Patterson — besides he lives and breathes music, and he’s personally threatened by sleeves, it’s he’s stubborn as an bull. ( when luke collapses at practice one afternoon, his friends are forced to reckon with his stubbornness, and luke must face the fact that he needs to be taken care of after all. )
