Fics like isn't it just so pretty to think

julie and flynn live in a small off-campus apartment. there's a fuchsia shower curtain, vodka in coffee mugs, and a lot of extra room for a girl who seems to be stopping by quite a lot. and there's a neighbor who sings in the shower, but that's a different story. alex is taking a gap year. he picks up hotdogs at a local cafe, he plays clubs up and down the street with his band and he flirts disasterously with a certain boy with long hair and a wicked smile. carrie has a plan, a career, and a girlfriend. that is, until something changes and suddenly, she can't stand to see grape mentos anymore, and there is a cup getting broken in someone else's kitchen sink. one way or another, things are starting to tangle up in a mess of bedazzled high heels, kindergarden day jobs, frozen lemonades, and music. yeah, music is the one red thread holding it all together. like an invisible string.
