Fics like not quite here we go again

Hayes whistled once he disappeared through the revolving doors. "That man hates you." It had been nine long months since Ilya Rozanov had last spoken to Shane Hollander. In all honesty, he deserved the cold shoulder he had received after breaking his heart in a hospital room. Big, wet eyes had bore into his as he told Shane no, he wouldn't be going to his cottage that summer. In fact, they should stop seeing each other all together. Shane's jaw had immediately clinched, his nostrils flared. He told Ilya to leave and never speak to him again. Ilya had obeyed his first wish, but he didn't listen to that second part. Not even a few weeks later, after watching Scott Hunter kiss his boyfriend on live television, he had tried to reach out to Shane. The stark realization of a blocked number and a fifth of vodka later, a silent vow had been made to somehow win him back. It didn't seem to be off to a good start. or- Ilya ended things with Shane when he intended to at the hospital only to immediately regret it and show up at All Star Weekend the next year with the goal of getting him back.
