Fics like Family Means Sharing Traumas and Hallucinations

“Shall I remind you that we're losing daylight and the trek ahead of us is, quite literally, long and tedious." “I thought bats were nocturnal.” “They are but he's not a bat.” Maya snickers, falling on step right next to Damian. “He's a robin, remember?” “Daylight, you insufferable children!” Maya snorts. “‘Children’ says the grumpiest fifteen years old ever.” “Scary.” Suren teases and laughs when Damian kicks sand his way. He lets the chattering of his friends fill the silence as they walk and tries to put the nagging feeling regarding the lack of communication with his family. ‘It’s fine.’ Damian tries to reassure himself, his thoughts fleeting as Suren forces him to join whatever topics he and Maya have switched on. ‘It’s not as if I’ve died.’ ((Or the one where there's a misunderstanding and Damian comes home from a mission to find a new headstone in his family's cementary. His family helps next to nothing to clear his confusion. They all eventually figure it out through their usual method: yelling and shouting at each other.))
