Fics like After Rain

September 1974 finds BJ Hunnicutt divorced, lonely, and trying to navigate the mess he’s made of his life. While he was spinning out, the world spun on without him: Erin started med school, Peg found a new partner, and worst of all, Hawkeye hasn’t spoken to him in almost ten years. Navigating the mess is easier said than done for a recently out, recovering alcoholic in his late forties. When the Red Cross puts out a call for volunteer doctors to help with the relief effort in Honduras after Hurricane Fifi, BJ jumps at the chance to get away—to do something that means something—and stop haunting his apartment like a ghost. Needless to say, the last person BJ expects to find in storm-ravaged La Ceiba is Hawkeye Pierce.
