Fics like Blood upon the stars

Three years after saving two worlds, Grace has finally found a home on Erid. But that peace is shattered when word reaches its shores: an Eridian mission has discovered a ship adrift in the depths of space. Only one survivor remains, barely clinging to life. After days fighting to save him, Grace finally learns his name: Simon. His anatomy is human... or close enough. He is intelligent, quiet, and possessed of a kindness that seems forever at odds with the caution keeping him alive. There are questions he won’t answer and a past that follows him like a shadow with teeth. As Grace tries to understand the stranger who has entered his life, Simon finds himself facing something far more dangerous than an unfamiliar world: himself. Because whatever happened aboard the SM-13 has left him change. Something inside him is waking. Something hungry. OR Simon falls first and harder. Also he’s a vampire fighting to hold on to the last fragile pieces of his humanity.
