Fics like How To Make Peace Out Of Prayers And Scrap Metal

He had stood before Simon and stayed and damn him if even for just a second, he wanted to believe that heaven was real. He had offered his kindness, his patience, his hand, and selfishly— foolishly, Simon prayed that for once, just once, his gluttony could go unburdened. That daring to desire instead of condemn— That daring to run and breathe and wonder wouldn’t lead him towards the light and then paint the gates to heaven in his filth. Funny. There’s blood everywhere, but none of it is his. AKA: A group of Eridians attack the house. Simon deals with the aftermath. Ryland echoes what transpired. Both have a bad time.
