Fics like Why is mission like this, question?

Set shortly before the fishing trip. Rocky learning about the Hail Mary’s suicide mission and watching Rocky (1976) leads him to draw a couple of conclusions about human culture. 1. Humans glorify combat and value violent entertainment of all types 2. Skilled humans can expect to be sacrificed to lonely deaths for the good of the community. 3. Sexual contact is often coerced Earth may be a harsh world, but what else did he expect from a species who not only withstand being bathed in a reactive element like oxygen at all times but actually need it to breathe? Still, the more he hears about where Grace came from, the more uneasy Rocky is starting to feel about sending his kind, goofy human friend back to that environment...
