"I'm going to take Theo to the beach on Saturday when we're off," Buck tells Eddie as they're lacing up their boots in the locker room at the start of shift. "Oh?" Eddie says, trying to tamp down the hope rising in him—please invite me, please invite me, please invite me. "Yeah, I'm a little nervous," Buck admits. "I might need some help." There it is. "I could come along, see if Chris wants to go. You know he loves the beach." Eddie shrugs. "I do indeed know," Buck says, flashing him a big smile. "I wouldn't mind a little Theo wrangling help if you're offering." Eddie is so, so soft for this man. "I'm offering." Or: Summer fun with the Buckley-Diaz family.
