Fics like don't stop looking in my eyes

Wet hair plastered to his forehead, Charles stares up at him through heavy-lidded eyes. “You care about me, don’t you, Erik?” he says, affection evident in his voice. Erik blinks, doing his best to ignore how warm he is around the ears. “Of course. You’re all I’ve got.” Charles grins, happily squirming around a little on the bed. “Come closer. I’ve got to tell you something.” He beckons Erik closer. Once Erik leans in, Charles tells him in a slurred whisper, “I love you.” Erik freezes. A flurry of indecipherable thoughts float through his head. Once he remembers how to form words again, he says quietly, “You’re drunk, Charles.”
