Fics like Liquid Metal

1944. Benjamin Weir, the youngest son of a steel magnate, volunteers to become America's first supersoldier. He doesn't know his father sold him to Vought before he signed the papers. Nikolai Ivanovich, a Russian émigré with a perfect résumé and a buried past, takes a chemistry internship at Vought out of boredom. He doesn't expect to find anything real behind the concrete walls. Then he hears Ben scream — not in pain, but in rage. A chemical accident turns Nikolai into Malchemical — a shapeshifter. What grows between them over forty years is not a romance. It's a siege. It's a slow drowning. It's two broken men learning that love doesn't save you — it just finds you in the dark and refuses to let go. Even when it's toxic. Like metal or... you know... Them. (This could be read as a very crazy Destiel AU. The characters are from The Boys... but everyone here knows that this ship only exists because of Destiel... So...)
