Fics like Allegro

“Have I offended you?” “No.” It was a petulant, blatant lie but Carlos brushed the irritation off quickly, had endured worse. He was used to people not taking his religion seriously. “Then would you like to dance?” “Huh?” Carlos whipped his head around to stare up at her incredulously, tried to find any part of her that was joking. She was not. “I- why-“ “You are tapping your foot.” Maureen nodded and Carlos looked down, seemed genuinely surprised to see his own leg jerk involuntarily. “I didn’t-“ “Your tail as well…” Maureen smiled knowingly as Carlos reached around himself and gripped the end, held it tight to stop it from twitching in time with the beat. “Come on,” she pushed off again, held a hand out. “This isn’t a style I know well but I can remember a few steps.” ~*~ Carlos and Maureen grapple with the choices they've made and think about the women they have loved and lost (Set after the events of 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Fireballs' episode 1, just a little exploration of what Carlos and Maureen's motivation might be)
