Fics like now through the delicate darkness you go

Shane's eyes burn where they follow Rose's figure as she ascends up, up, up the steps, still so unaware that Shane is not following. Is not hard. Is hardly even present. They’re in Shane’s home, somewhere he normally feels most comfortable, but right now the walls feel like they’re closing in on him and he sort of wants to flee. Both from his home and his body. He doesn’t recognize this staircase, the thu-thump of his heartbeat, the body traipsing his stairs, the skin holding him together. Shane wishes it wouldn’t. Wants the skin to melt off his bones to allow himself to sink between the cracks in the hardwood flooring. ||or: after seeing Ilya at the nightclub, Shane goes home with Rose. This is the aftermath.
