Jerry is in an open relationship with Mandi and starts sleeping with Bill after a drunk hookup. He knows this is not good, and even if he tries to run away, he comes back again. Bill starts sleeping with Jerry and frames it as something "not gay." He is lonely and angry and thinks taking his frustration out on his childhood friend is going to make things better. It doesn't.
