Fics like fear

The first time Roland flinched away from him, Monty didn't think anything of it. The second time it happened, Monty felt a small spark of hurt and self-loathing light up in his stomach. And by the third and fourth and fifth time, he had learned exactly when to take a step back even if he wasn't too close to Roland to begin with, because he didn't like that weird twisty thing Roland would do with his face. Roland's breathing would hitch and his whole body would jolt, but only so subtly that no one else other than Monty would possibly notice it. He always noticed it. ~~~ OR monty doesn't like how roland always seems to be a little bit scared of him. after some meddling from Edgar and Kevin, he decides to change that.
