Fics like The Aquadia Conflict (Sonic x Ecco the Dolphin x Dolphin Blue)

Star-faring invaders have settled on the eastern continent, bringing their own internal conflicts to a land that already belongs to others. The flashpoint is in a massive, submerged Mobian ruin. The ambitious Empire of the Iron Standard and the diplomatic Kingdom of Bluetear are locked in a struggle over this ancient site and the secret of the Minor Chaos Emerald. When Princess Annette, keeper of that sacred knowledge, is kidnapped, an unlikely pair, Erio, the cynical mercenary, and Anne, the idealistic soldier, must ride out on their Mobian Dolphin partners for a desperate rescue. When the xenophobic, unstoppable Stalegor Empire intervenes to expel all “Overlanders” (Space Invaders), the rescue mission becomes a terrifying three-way war. Caught between the alien, guttural demands of and the arrogant ignorance of the humans, every single act of failed communication escalates the violence. A rescue attempt that inadvertently becomes the catalyst for the first war between Overlanders and Mobians.
