Fics like It Feels Inhumane (To Lose This Much)

Grian falls. Dust and desert sand mingling with the blue of the sky and the green of cacti as he tumbles head over heels, and he’s afraid, he’s so afraid, but there’s only one way to end the game, and the fall is long. Good. He’s glad that he will be lingering in the air for what feels like years. It will give him time to think, to process the overwhelming guilt and horror. Or, there is a world where friends, family, and the fallen gather to welcome back each player who returns from Third Life. Grian wakes up there as a victor, unable to breathe. Third Life had a greater effect on Grian than he’d like to admit. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have much of a choice.
