Fics like Second Set of Eyes

“Buck!” Eddie was already moving. Oxygen tank forgotten at Bobby’s feet, turnout coat already halfway off because he needed the range of motion to check on Buck. The world tunneled—sirens, voices, the puff of dust off every bootfall—down to one point: Buck’s face up close, eyes too bright, lashes caked with grit. “Hey. Hey, look at me.” Buck tried. He blinked slow, mouth parted, a smear of soot curving up his cheekbone. His lips were almost colorless under the dust. “Eddie,” he managed, voice frayed into a rasp. “M’good.” “Yeah? Prove it.” Eddie’s palm found the back of Buck’s turnout, guided him sideways to the tailboard of the engine. “Sit down.” _____________ Buck's caught right in the middle of a structural collapse and when he stumbles out, well, Eddie has to make sure he's actually okay. This is, like 4.5k words of Eddie checking over Buck, sorry!
