Fics like never give you peace

“You know…” Hans swallows, then clenches his jaw. “…I won’t hate you if you don’t want to do this. We can just let that night be what it was.” So, this is it. The dreaded discussion has caught up to Henry, as he knew it would, but he had foolishly hoped for a little more time. A night of relative normalcy. He feels his heart plummet to his feet with enough force to burst through the floor. He knows the question he has to ask, but every part of him resists the command to ask it. When he finally manages to choke it out, his voice is unsteady. “Is that what you want?” Or: after the battle of Suchdol, Henry still isn't positive where Hans stands on their relationship, which makes him nervous. They have a conversation about it while Henry takes care of Hans’ wound.
