Fics like and when broken bodies are washed ashore (who am i to ask for more?)

The Asset knows intimately the bite of a steel plate against sharp canines, but has never known anything this soft and yielding. It had not expected to find it within such a firm exterior. There is a flavor, a pulse, a surrender to the Mission that the Asset has not found in anything else. It is as if the Asset has been starving for a very long time and is now presented with nourishment; mindful of jagged edges against tender flesh, reverent and ravenous at once. -- With no handlers left and no one to report back to, the Asset finds itself in Steve Rogers apartment in the middle of the night, wanting something it isn't sure how to ask for. Steve's been waiting far too long to turn him away.
