Fics like sinning at the soda fountain

Steve wants to say, two weeks after I woke up, I went for a walk in the park, and I saw two men holding hands. They couldn’t’ve been more than twenty years old and they were walking together and swinging their hands in tandem and just seeing them scared me to my fucking bones. I wanted to tell them to hide. I wanted to tell them it wasn’t safe, that someone might see. I looked around to see if anyone noticed and no one cared. Do you know what that’s like? To come into a world where, suddenly, no one cares when it’s all I ever cared about?
