Fics like A Truth Subtly Revealed

She regrets her choice of words immediately. Their future limited to weeks or days or possibly even hours. The phone in her pocket likely to ring at any time. Her mother on the other end of the line. Giving her a date and a location. But Zara doesn’t seem to catch the problem with her words. She’s smiling. Nodding. Then leaning in again. Kissing Aaliyah. Forcefully. Urgently. Her tongue sweeping into Aaliyah’s mouth like she did catch the problem. That time is scarce and precious and not something they can afford to waste. Aaliyah’s gut twists. Even as she slides her tongue against Zara’s and whimpers into Zara’s mouth. The walls so close now that she can feel their presence. The cold stone. Dark. Blotting out her view of the sky and the world. And soon they will slam shut. Seal her inside. Where she’ll be left to suffocate and… and… and... OR Aaliyah loses her grip on reality as her wedding date nears.
