Fics like when it rains, it pours

Yelena Belova stares up at the plaque– the Battle of New York Memorial, listing the names of those who first assembled in midtown Manhattan. All names she’d gotten familiar with those first few months after destroying the Red Room; those first months where her only focus had been free will, character agency, and the Widows, when it should've been– it should’ve been– family. Natasha Romanoff’s name blends in unassumingly within the roster of men– the fifth out of six– as if determined to lay low undercover even in death. Death. Natasha Romanoff was dead. A week after half the universe's population returns, Yelena visits Trinity Church Cemetery. There, within the darkness, a light in the form of an equally broken man guides her way through the sorrow.
