Fics like The devil you know

After being drafted unwillingly into the Wardens, Harry starts looking into how to break ties with the White Council. He wants Chicago protected but also out from under them. It's through his research and friendship with Mac that he comes to a solution. A Vassal bond to a FreeHolding Lord. A lord who would declare Chicago their territory. There was only one person he trusted with that responsibility. Even if he was a scumbag. Reluctantly he starts to gather everything that would be needed to give the information and signators needed for a new Lord to be named. He hesitates when he has everything was ready. Could he really bind himself to Marcone? This would be irrevocable. The decision was made for him when the Council kills a kid for breaking one of the Laws of Magic in self defense. He approached Marcone after being forced to witness an execution.
