Fics like Bones of the Earth

Harry does some thinking while avoiding Marcone and Murphy at the same time. He considers Murphy's betrayal when all he's done was try to help her. Sure in the end she came through for him but she still despite their time together thought the worst of him. While on the other hand, Marcone hadn't hesitated to try and rescue him. Sure it'd come with caveat but he respected a person's choice. And in the Pit he hadn't even thought twice about helping save their skin without even the promise of help in return. He may have understood Harry's honor but that wasn't a guarantee. He'd shown Harry more trust in the few times they'd met than Murphy had in the years they'd known each other. In the end, Harry wanted someone to trust and in turn be trusted by him. It made his decision a simple but painful one.
