Fics like by any other name

For all the jokes she’s made about Joel’s name twin, on the day Joel Hendrix is brought back beaten and bloody in a body bag, Ellie isn’t feeling very light-hearted. Especially when the body is followed by his sobbing daughter, only a year older than Ellie herself. She keeps her eyes on Tanner as she staggers by, held up by Tommy, who was sent out on the rescue patrol to bring the Hendrixes back after they broke protocol and split from their group to go after an elk and then failed to check back in. Apparently they found something significantly worse than a lucky hunt in the middle of winter. (what if the fireflies killed the wrong joel?)
