Fics like Go On And Step On Me
Some nights, only once everyone is gone, Butcher finds Hughie in the basement staring into nothing, troubled. He yanks him up and drags him to his room. For a few hours, Butcher’s only as rough as Hughie lets him be. He’s all slow-moving calloused hands and scruffy beard catching against collarbone. The hands he tugs through Hughie’s hair and presses into his hips makes his grief go quiet. Hughie tries to pretend that’s all it is. He doesn’t want to care as much as he does. He wants to do it like Butcher does, half-drunk and near-silent, thrusting into a coping mechanism. But beggars can’t be choosers, and Hughie won’t beg.
