Fics like A Deep Connection

"Let's be honest: Kevin never thought he would ever feel compassion for Homelander. Or by anyone. By any human being. Lately the sea beings were the only ones able to win his sympathy. Sometimes he wondered what he was still doing among terrestrials. The bottom of the ocean seemed to him a thousand times more welcoming place. Homelander, however, managed to say something, in a certain tone of voice... Something, something about that... Kevin suddenly, in all these years, knew what this man was going through: 'I’m so alone,' Homelander choked against his skin, right where his neck met his right shoulder. 'I’m so alone. I'm so alone I think I will die.' And then... Kevin's arms were suddenly sliding around his waist, wrapping that poor bastard in a hug: 'Yeah.' He managed to mutter. 'I know.'"
