Fics like (Nearly) Lost and Finally Found

He was sick of it, all this waiting, and that was surely what he was doing. Waiting until he finally worked up the nerve to just do it. It wasn’t like he had any other plans for what to do in Paris, and it was as nice of a place to go as any. Not that he’d actually seen much of the sights since he arrived, but he’d been here before, so it wasn’t like he was missing anything particularly new. Still, he felt like he’d hit a standstill. No matter how hard he tried to drink himself into a stupor, to give himself the liquid courage that killing himself would require, he still failed night after night. It was yet another reminder of his own selfishness, that he valued his own life enough to risk endangering the lives of others by continuing his poisonous existence. It was only further proof that he was a bloody coward, like he didn’t know that already. --- aka a Post-Dark Phoenix fic where Charles's plans to kill himself in Paris are interrupted by the appearance of Erik, but he ends up trying to go through with it anyway. Thanks to Erik, he does not succeed and finds new reasons to keep on living. This is a fix-it fic for Dark Phoenix where I temporarily make things worse in order to make them better.
