Fics like your heart is red on your sleeve

"I never got to thank you for saving me back at the Fourth Reich's base." Artyom is unable to bite back a shiver when Pavel's stubble rasps over his cheek. "You don't need to," he manages, but it sounds unconvincing to his own ears. "You saved me from the demon." Pavel doesn't push though. He pulls back and smiles easily, dropping his hand from his side. "Just figure I could do something nice for you, Artyushka, but if you say we're square, we're square." "That's not what I meant," Artyom says. He leans back against the wall and grips Pavel's wrist loosely. "Just that you don't owe me anything. If you want to... then you can. I don't need thanks otherwise." Pavel stares at him before smiling. He leans in close again, resting his forehead against Artyom's. He closes his eyes and just focuses on the sound of Pavel's breathing. "You've got a good heart, Artyom," the Red murmurs, "You should be more careful. Not everyone is so kind, you know."
