Fics like Arcane 2033: Ashes and Blood

“Hey, Cupcake,” Vi muttered as she pulled herself up the last rung of the ladder, then looked back down at Caitlyn. “Did you ever think when you left Piltover Station that you’d end up here, about to save the entire metro?” Caitlyn huffed as she began to climb. “I don’t know. Honestly, I didn’t let myself think far enough ahead to really—“ One of the final rungs gave way. There was no warning, no preliminary groan, just the sudden absence of stability in her hand. And in an instant, she was falling. Until she wasn’t. Until a hand closed around her wrist like a vise. “Got you!” Vi was on her stomach, reaching over the ledge, and despite the strain against the stitches, slowly pulled her up to the ledge, the others helping her to her feet as she got there. “Thanks,” Caitlyn managed to get out, looking down at the drop. Vi nodded, then smirked, just slightly. “Four to three?” Caitlyn let out a faint laugh. “Sure. Four to three.” OR Caitlyn has spent almost her entire life in Moscow's underground metro system in the safety of Piltover Station. When her home is threatened by the Dark Ones, a powerful mutant race, she must leave in order to save not only her station, but the entire metro.
