With each passing day, it only seemed to get worse. Venus’ taunts and insults would follow Mercury wherever he went, the remains of the Sun’s solarflares would burn into his crust like a brand, and all the while no one else seemed to care. The Earth and Mars preferred to play poker over worrying about him, and whenever he went to Jupiter, the other would turn him down with empty comforts and dull smiles. Mercury was alone, and it was becoming too much. He tries to become distant from the other rocky planets, then tries to stand up for himself, only for an asteroid to hit him in the face and knock him out. Eventually, he recovers to find that nothing had changed in his absence. If anything, Venus, Mars and the Earth only grew closer, with the three of them playing cards together while the Sun pretended to care about Mercury. ... He had reached his limit. He couldn’t deal with this anymore. It was torture, being trapped between Venus and the Sun as some sort of twisted plaything, it was torture, to see everyone else not give a shit about him, it was torture— Mercury wanted to escape. No- he needed to escape. And so, one day, he tries to kill himself.
