Buck ends up working some shifts at a few other stations after the tsunami. Not on purpose, like, he didn't go seeking out the other stations. He just sort of fell into them. And he wasn't trying to keep it a secret, but everyone was crazy busy again after the tsunami was all cleared up and they were back to work and normal routines. He just wasn't expecting Bobby to more or less drag him back to the 118 and confront him about working elsewhere without talking to him first. Or Maddie being there and complaining that he didn't take the fire marshal position. Or finding out she was talking to their parents.
