Fics like Picking up the Pieces

Michael is lucky enough to meet his fated Sentinel during a mission, before he’s even gone online. When disaster strikes without warning, he barely manages to survive the aftermath. He spends the next two years putting himself slowly back together so that he can go after his Sentinel when he’s ready. A twist of fate grants him that one wish. However, Damien doesn’t know him anymore the way he did two years back. Michael has to figure out how to remind him what they are to each other without risking their lives. It’s not an easy task to begin with. To make matters even worse, he has to do it while hunting for an elusive terrorist who’s hell-bent on destroying the entire Western world.
