Fics like never have i ever

A human cry from behind Goro catches him by surprise. Akira. Goro whirls around just as the heel of the shadow’s scythe collides with Akira’s head. Akira staggers backward. The blade strikes again, tearing through Akira’s arm. Blood sprays onto the ground as Akira collapses to one knee. Time freezes. Akira glares up at the Macabre poised to reap with a face draining of color. Blood streams down from Akira’s hairline, glazing his white mask crimson. His arm is a landscape; blood runs from rounded peaks of muscle, like a river flowing downhill from the mountains, pouring into his curled palm, and trickling into the ocean of mist he kneels in. Goro sees red. He has no options left.
