Fics like Balance

“Red lightnings flash through the sky / dread hurricanes blow / Ah, a terrible sight - / the shadow apart from the light.” (Amos Russel Wells) Xaden Riorson has reached his third year in the Rider’s Quadrant, and is dancing on the edge of a knife’s blade between life and death at all times. Fortunately, his balance is always excellent - until General Lilith Sorrengail chooses the very moment he thinks he’s got it all under control to call in a promised favour, which may upend it all. I’m really not good at summaries, but this is mostly a collection of pieces trying to guess at Xaden’s internal thoughts and motivations, set during Fourth Wing.
