Fics like A Darker Colour

“You only have two hands, Ruby.” She moved the taller girl’s hands off her shoulders, taking them in her own. “You were meant for great things–amazing things. Not because of your mother, not because of your eyes, and not because of the hopes of others.” She shook her head and shifted them both into a hug. Something that Ruby wanted–no, needed. “But because that’s who you are and these hands of yours are meant to do wonders.” ~ A rage that burned was petty, simply kindling lit by a child wailing against Fate. A rage that glowed hot was tempered, put through the forges of will that led one’s choices to culminate in Destiny.
