Ellie reappears then and presents her hands for inspection, still slightly damp from washing. She’s a little bratty as she shoves them at his face, and he frowns again, not expecting it. Then again, she is a kid who’s been woken far past her bedtime. He supposes a little grumpiness is to be expected. Her attitude ceases quickly enough when he’s risen from the chair and Tommy’s settled her in it with pillows to help prop her arms up. She looks a little nervous as he gently lowers the baby towards her, and he hesitates. “You alright?” He asks, and she nods. “Alright,” he says, slowly releasing the baby and adjusting Ellie’s arms. “Remember, you gotta support his head, okay?” “I remember,” she says, sharper than he’d expected, but he doesn’t comment on it. She’s done practice, he knows, so it’s possible she’s just annoyed at being reminded of what she already knows. This moment and place certainly isn’t the time to pick a power struggle over her tone. “Hi,” she tells the baby conversationally when he’s been settled properly. “I’m Ellie.” (maria and tommy's baby is born!) (ft jelly ellie having some BIG feelings about the newest addition to the family)
