Fics like They Never Look to See Me Fly (so I Never Had to Lie)

“The last few steps up the long stairs were possibly the hardest, but after that Phil was able to push open the doors, stepping through to what he expected would be a cold, empty entrance. That was decidedly not what he found.” Or: Phil and Techno used to explore and conquer the world together, centuries ago. They formed the Antarctic Empire together, were known as legends… and one day ended up in a fight they couldn’t win. Phil’s connection with the goddess of Death allowed him to survive, but Techno was gone. Several centuries later, Phil ends up back at the center of the Antarctic Empire, expecting it to be empty. It’s not. Other expectations are also defied and found family ensues :D
