Fics like the birds and the bees and the ellies

Tess, blessedly, comes to investigate his coughing fit. It’s an effort not to toss Ellie over and call it a day. “Everything alright in here?” His partner asks, leaning casually against the doorframe. “Where do babies come from?” Ellie asks, tilting her head back and almost overbalancing herself in the process, saved only by his hand on her back. She extends grabby hands when Tess crosses to them, Tess giving him a wry look. “Curious about the birds and the bees, huh?” She asks, lifting Ellie and then settling on his lap, Ellie still in her arms. He adjusts slightly to get more comfortable. It’s new, this sort of thing, Tess taking the initiative with new levels of intimacy. He likes it more than a little. (ellie has some Important Questions) (and also learns that her family is a little bigger than she'd thought it was)
